Wyss Zurich presence in the Swiss Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka

21-06-2025 – Wyss Zurich in collaboration with The Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA), Kyoto University, the CiRa Foundation, the Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IREM) at the University of Zurich, hosted the “Creating a Healthier You with iPS Cells and Next-Gen Medicine” Science Cafe at Swiss Pavillion during Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

During the Science Cafe, 21-22 June, researchers from Switzerland and Japan presented their latest research findings on new strategies to treat diseases and injuries affecting different organs, including the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), heart, blood, and immune system, in an easy-to-understand format. 

Our Co-Director, Prof Simon P. Hoerstrup introduced Wyss Zurich Translational Center and how we are supporting and accelerating cutting-edge regenerative medicine and medical device technologies, transforming the future of healthcare. 

Additionally, Prof. Maximilian Emmert, Co-founder and CEO LifeMatrix Technologies AG introduced their unique bio-engineering technology platform to grow human replacement tissues in the laboratory.

​The patented LifeMatrix tissues can be manufactured in a wide range of applications such as heart valves, blood vessels and other cardiovascular structures.
