At the Wyss Zurich Translational Center, we love seeing bold ideas transform into technologies that solve real-world challenges. Today, we celebrate a major milestone for one of our own: Tethys Robotics.
The ETH Zurich spin-off has raised €3.5 million in pre-seed funding to scale their autonomous underwater robot, the Tethys ONE, for safety-critical missions worldwide. Operating at depths of up to 300 meters, it supports offshore wind and energy inspections, ordnance disposal, and search-and-rescue operations — all autonomously and safely, with high-resolution 3D data collection.
With over 30 pilot projects underway and collaborations with the Swiss Army and SDRC, Tethys Robotics is proving that innovation can meet both commercial and societal needs.
We’re proud to have supported this journey — from lab concept to real-world impact beneath the waves. Congratulations to Jonas Wüst and the team!
