Founding Co-Directors Roland Siegwart (ETH Zurich) and Simon P. Hoerstrup (University of Zurich) celebrated a decade of innovation and translation across 28 supported projects and the two technology platforms. They highlighted how the generous donation from Hansjörg Wyss catalyzed the creation of over 700 jobs, supported 12 clinical trials, and turned countless scientific breakthroughs into real-world impact.
A selection of current and alumni projects; including Versive, Tethys, Somagenetix, and Cellerys; showcased their pioneering work, followed by an inspiring presentation from the outreach project mint & pepper. Managing Director Amanda Gogates then led a high-level panel discussion with industry leaders Odile Rundquist and Susanne Schaffert, emphasizing how Wyss Zurich’s unique model connecting ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich drives translational success.
In closing, Hansjörg Wyss encouraged the community to reflect on achievements and build on them: “We want the public to benefit and understand what we are doing here. The young researchers can be proud — that’s marvelous.”
