Our Wyss Zurich Co-Director Simon P Hoerstrup welcomed Nobel prize winner Shinya Yamanaka prior to his public lecture at the University of Zurich last week. Yamanaka, who pioneered the field of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) at the University of Kyoto, was invited to a scientific exchange with young researchers to discuss iPSC and translational cell-therapy approaches organized by the Institute of Regenerative Medicine at the University of Zurich.
